Youth Hostels

Did you know that the first youth hostel was established in Germany in 1912? Or that since then over 4,500 youth hostels have been built in close to 80 countries?

Over the past 70 years about 30 youth hostels have been built in Israel, from Tel Khai in the north to Eilat in the south.
The hostels are associated with the Israel Youth Hostel Association, which is a member of the International Youth Hostels Federation.

The hostels, which maintain a high standard of quality and excellence, are located in the big cities, at tourism sites, near entertainment and recreation sites, historical sites and nature parks and close to popular tourist attractions.

Comfort is important for guests of all ages, so the hostels offer accommodation in air-conditioned rooms (shared or family), adjacent showers, self-service kitchens, cafeterias, Internet corners and television rooms at very affordable prices. The hostels offer a wonderful opportunity to meet young people and those who remain young at heart, from Israel and around the world.
The hostels association offers single, family or group memberships, affording members reduced accommodation prices and discounts at various sites in Israel. Members also receive updates regarding interesting events and recreation activities, as well as assistance in obtaining information on transportation services, tourism centers, national parks, museums and recommended tours, so that you can get the most out of your stay in Israel.

Organized groups use the hostels as a base not only for sleeping, but also for holding lectures, seminars, conventions and organized and guided tours throughout the country.

Stay at youth hostels as you tour Israel up close, fall in love with the charm of Pki'in, the one and only Jerusalem, historic Metsada (Massada) and picturesque Ein Kerem, the wonder of Lake Kineret and the vistas of the Galilee.
